Why I do this
I got my start in this business more than twenty years ago, and I was good at it — a top producer in life and annuities. Then I left to build things. For about fifteen years I worked in product innovation, including co-founding a company that won a contract with the VA Center for Innovation to build software for veterans dealing with PTSD and depression. That work was personal: I served two tours in Iraq with the Army before I turned twenty. I came back to this industry for a simple reason — the protection-focused products I wished existed twenty years ago finally do. Granite Point is me doing the work I know, the way I thought it should be done from the start: one licensed agent, straight answers, no call center.

I'm not a financial advisor — and I say so.
I don't hold a securities license and I don't manage investments. I'm a licensed insurance agent. That means the one category I work in — insurance-based retirement options, like fixed indexed annuities — I explain plainly, including the parts that aren't flattering: the caps, the surrender periods, and who they're wrong for.
How I get paid, asked and answered.
If you ever choose a contract, the insurance carrier pays me a commission. You don't write me a check, and the review costs nothing either way. You should expect any agent to answer that question this directly.
